Forex and CFD trading across the Middle East

Most Gulf currencies are pegged to the US dollar, oil and gold sit at the centre of the region's economies, and the London open falls in your working day. Here is how trading with AlphaFX Pro fits.

Why a dollar account suits the region

The UAE dirham, Saudi riyal, Qatari riyal, Bahraini dinar, Omani rial and Jordanian dinar are all pegged to the US dollar. For traders in those countries, an account held in US dollars carries almost no exchange-rate risk back into the local currency. Kuwait manages its dinar against a basket, and Egypt and Lebanon have floating or crisis-hit currencies where a dollar account is a deliberate choice.

Friday, Sunday and the forex week

Forex trades from Monday to Friday. In Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan and Egypt the weekend is Friday and Saturday, so Friday is a trading day on your weekend and Sunday is closed. The UAE and Lebanon work Monday to Friday, the same week as the market. Each country page shows the market open and close in local time.
