Trading from Qatar: what is different

Qatar is one of the world's largest exporters of liquefied natural gas, which makes natural gas — not just oil — the commodity most tied to the local economy. Natural gas, Brent and WTI are all on the platform as CFDs.

The Qatari riyal has been pegged at 3.64 to the US dollar since 2001, so a USD account carries no meaningful exchange risk for a Qatar-based trader.

The working week runs Sunday to Thursday. Forex trades Monday to Friday, so Friday afternoon — including US jobs data on the first Friday of the month — falls on your weekend, and Sunday is closed until the week opens at 01:00 on Monday.

    Forex market hours in Qatar

The forex market is open 24 hours a day from Monday to Friday, passing from Asia to Europe to North America. These are the main sessions converted to local time in Qatar.

Times in Arabia Standard Time (UTC+3). Europe and the US change their clocks in late March and late October/early November, which moves the London and New York sessions by an hour.
