Trading from Kuwait: what is different

Unlike its Gulf neighbours, Kuwait does not peg its currency to the dollar alone. Since 2007 the dinar has been managed against an undisclosed basket of currencies, with the dollar the largest weight. That means a USD trading account can move slightly against the dinar over time — small, but worth knowing if you measure results in KWD.

The dinar is the highest-valued currency unit in the world, roughly 3.25 dollars to one dinar. When you convert profits or deposits, the numbers in dinars will look small next to the dollar figures on your account statement.

Kuwait's weekend is Friday and Saturday. Friday is a full trading day in forex, and the market is closed on Sunday until the week opens at 01:00 on Monday morning.

    Forex market hours in Kuwait

Times in Arabia Standard Time (UTC+3). Europe and the US change their clocks in late March and late October/early November, which moves the London and New York sessions by an hour.
