Trading from Oman: what is different
Oman runs on Gulf Standard Time (UTC+4), an hour ahead of Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The London session opens at 12:00 Muscat time in winter and New York at 17:00, so the most liquid hours fall in the late afternoon and evening.
The Omani rial is pegged at 0.3845 to the US dollar (about 2.60 dollars per rial) and has been since 1986. Results in a USD account translate straight back to rials.
The weekend is Friday and Saturday. Friday is an open forex day; Sunday, a working day, is closed until the market opens at 02:00 on Monday morning in winter.
