Trading from Brunei: what is different
Under a currency agreement in place since 1967 the Brunei dollar is exchanged at par with the Singapore dollar, and the two circulate interchangeably. USD/SGD — the dollar against the Singapore dollar — therefore tracks the Brunei dollar too.
Brunei's weekend is unusual: Friday and Sunday, with Saturday a working day. Friday is a forex trading day; Saturday morning, a working morning for you, is after the market has closed for the week.
Oil and gas account for most of Brunei's exports, so Brent and natural gas are the commodities closest to the local economy.
Forex market hours in Brunei
The forex market is open 24 hours a day from Monday to Friday, passing from Asia to Europe to North America. These are the main sessions converted to local time in Brunei.
