Trading from Ghana: what is different

Ghana is Africa's largest gold producer, and gold is the country's biggest export. XAU/USD — gold priced in dollars — is the market most tied to the local economy, and it is available alongside silver and copper.

The cedi lost a large part of its value against the dollar in 2022. A USD account is not affected by cedi moves inside the account, although its value in cedis still changes with the exchange rate.

Ghana stays on UTC+0 all year: the London session opens at 08:00 from November to March and 07:00 from April to October, and New York opens at 14:30 in winter.

    Forex market hours in Ghana

The forex market is open 24 hours a day from Monday to Friday, passing from Asia to Europe to North America. These are the main sessions converted to local time in Ghana.

Times in Greenwich Mean Time (UTC+0). Europe and the US change their clocks in late March and late October/early November, which moves the London and New York sessions by an hour.
